Cyclone Fina – Important Notice for WLIB Clients in the Darwin Region

Cyclone Fina is intensifying off the Northern Territory coast and may affect commercial, rural and industrial sites around Darwin. If you operate in the region — or have interests there — please review your preparations.

Before the Cyclone

• Secure plant, machinery, vehicles, signage, pallets and loose yard items.
• Protect critical equipment, servers and stock from wind and water where possible.
• Back up key data off-site or to the cloud and confirm staff contact and shutdown procedures.
• Walk the site and take photos or video of buildings, stock and major equipment.

If You Sustain Damage or Business Interruption

• Contact your WLIB broker as soon as it is safe. We already hold your policy information.
• Record damage with photos, video and brief notes.
• Segregate damaged stock or equipment where possible and avoid disposal unless necessary for safety.
• Keep invoices for urgent make-safe repairs — WLIB will present these to insurers.
• We will work with insurers to ensure the claim is handled fairly and correctly.
